What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

WOMEN, WORK and TRIUMPH
The initial goal of Women, Work and Triumph was to educate, empower, inspire, and support girls on the verge of womanhood and young women on their journey. As we celebrated the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote, the struggle, in my opinion, continues as women still fight for equality in what were traditionally male-dominated professions.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I write early in the morning while it is quiet. If I write in the afternoon or evening, my husband is allowed to do anything but vacuum. According to my husband, I can be heard talking out loud and laughing as I give my characters voice.

What authors, or books have influenced you?

Stories from the Bible and Shakespeare have had a profound influence on me. Legal dramas and mysteries are of great interest to me. I believe everyone has a story and will listen to people who tell me extraordinary tales.

What are you working on now?

I am simultaneously writing two books;

1. A children’s book inspired by my work as a volunteer with Freedom Readers a non-profit organization serving children in need around the country improve their reading skills. The book in the voice of a child informs their care givers, Mom and Dad, Mom and Mom, Dad and Dad, single Mom, single Dad how they view their lives.
2. A book containing stories by members of the LGBTQ+ community. It is inspired by my friendships with various members of the community who have shared with me, their experiences and hopes for the future.
