Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.

Gary Eby MSW/retired is the author of “Reflections: A Journey to God,” “Challenge Your Dark Secret,” and “A New Way: Spiritual Healing of Chronic Conditions.” Gary has a Master’s degree in Social Work. He retired 12 years ago as a social worker, mental health counselor, and addiction therapist with the VA system. He currently plays the piano twice a month at the Christian Science Church in Grants Pass. Gary was the musical director and a motivational speaker at the Unity Church in Grants Pass for many years. In addition, He was the musical director and a motivational speaker at the Unity Church in Medford, Oregon for several years in the recent past.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

“A New Way: Spiritual Healing of Chronic Conditions.” Do you suffer from stressful or painful chronic and acute conditions.” Listen to his story, to see if his ideas can help you find relief from whatever emotional, mental, or physical challenge that has caused you so much suffering throughout the years.
 

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I use prayer and meditation to give me insight regarding
the spiritual essays that I enjoy writing about.

I have been influenced by all the new thought and positive thinking authors that have been so popular over the years: Norman Vincent Peal; Dr. Wayne Dryer; Emmet Fox; Charles and Myrtle Fillmore; Ernest Holms; H. Emly Cady; Joseph Murphy; Catherine Ponder; Mary Baker Eddy; Joel Goldsmith
 

What are you working on now?

I am working on a talk that features the material in “Challenge Your Dark Secret.”

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Listen to you internal guidance system. Read out loud what your write. Keep polishing it over and over.

I keep listening to my inner guidance system for inspiration.
 

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

The Bible, The Science And Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and the book I co-authored with my wife, Rev. Susan Eby: “Reflections: A Journey to God.”
