Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.

This would be the first. I have ideas for at least 3 more.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

My book is called Self-Care Solutions @ Work, and I was inspired to write it because of lockdown. I am a massage therapist by trade since 2015, and so during the 2020 lockdowns, when we couldn\’t get within 2m of people, I felt compelled to write this book as a way of helping people manage their pain while they were unable to seek professional help.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I suppose? I stay anxious about it with it swirling around in my head for months, then one day I sit and get it all out. Then I send it to people I trust to give critiques and ask questions, and populate the book with the rest.

What authors, or books have influenced you?

For this book specifically, there is one book called \”An Urban Sketcher\’s Galway\” by Roisin Cure that inspired the style. In general, I am not the most avid of readers if I am honest, but I have come across a number of books that have completely influenced my life. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is definitely one of those.

What are you working on now?

What I am loosely working on are 3 different ideas. One is the same as the SCS@W, only it is Self-Care Solutions with Energy Work, and it introduces the reader to all manner of therapies they might not have otherwise heard of. I know there are so many people out there who want to get into holistic therapies and are intrigued by the alternative model of health care, but don\’t know where to start. I am hoping with this book, they will get an idea of what therapies resonate with them the most.

I have two other books in my mind, one is sort of auto-biographical I guess, and the other a sci-fi thriller. I\’d love to get them out of me, I just haven\’t found the time or courage to.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?

Honestly, I just give it away free to my clients. I was selling it in a coffee shop there for a while during the dwindlings of covid restricted times. I sell it on my website as well, http://www.askgiada.com.

Which Websites you like most to promote your book

I\’m not sure.

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Be patient.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?

When you think you\’re too old to do something, remember, you\’re the youngest you\’ll ever be.

What are you reading now?

\”Breathe\” by James Nestor. It was a gift from a client.

What’s next for you as a writer?

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

Probably: Tim O\’Shei\’s How to Survive on a Deserted Island, The Chinese Medicine Bible, a book on foraging for the local area, and a blank notebook with a pen.
