Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a retired RN who began writing the day after. I now have ten books on Amazon, which are mostly eBooks. I am married to a man who spoils me, and I love it. I have two grown children, six grandchildren, and four greats. My family has been blessed. I live in the country side near Tulsa, Oklahoma on Pole Cat Creek. Besides my husband, I have a large fur family, which is like having a houseful of three-year-olds. I want to knock their heads sometimes, but I can\’t imagine living without them. Besides writing, I do a lot of knitting and crochet. I like watching old movies and Dancing With the Stars.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My inspiration comes from my Muse. I enjoy writing, and that takes in full-length books, short stories and flash fiction.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not unusual for me. I might be up writing at 3:30 in the morning. It all depends on whether I can sleep and how much my muse bugs me about writing. That little voice in my head drives me crazy at times.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Diane Gabeldon and the Outlander Series and J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter Series. I loved thier work.
What are you working on now?
I\’ll have a book published at the end of December called \”Shirley\’s Compilation of Short Stories\”. It is a mix of genres and lengths. It is just entertaining.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I suppose social sites such as Facebook, and Twitter.
Which Websites you like most to promote your book
I find Facebook easy to advertise on.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don\’t be afraid to write. Just sit down and do it. Don\’t worry about corrections . The story will come out.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Pay attention to the details.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I intend to keep writing and improving my skill. I want to keep myself and my readers happy.
If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?
The Bible and as many of the Outlander books as I could get.
