Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.

We have written four books three of which are part of the Nurseketeers series. The fourth is the A,B,&Cs of Author Partnering. We are nurses that went to nursing school in the same era as our fictional Nurseketeers characters. We met in the 1980\’s at perioperative nursing conferences and then in 2016 began exploring writing as author partners.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

Silent Struggle is the third in the Nurseketeers series. This book is about the junior year in the life of Katie one of the Nurseketeers. She is a Native American and faces crises on multiple fronts as she navigates her third year in college in the the nursing program. Undertaking clinicals, studying, balancing relationship from a distance in 1972-73 and the ultimate question of whether she will choose the best option for herself and continue to progress in her scholastic endeavors.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I\’m not sure these are unusual but when writing with a partner it is always best to have a scene list and clear on what each other is writing. We do that via a weekly Zoom meeting to reconnect and keep the momentum and creativity flowing.

What authors, or books have influenced you?

William Bernhardt\’s book red sneaker book series is an all time favorite of mine. His books a short and simple and each focused on one key learning element about writing. I began reading his series early in the first book Terri and I wrote together. I found it an invaluable resource. Sue Grafton\’s series I fell in love with the first one I read and although we write women\’s fiction not detective/murder mystery stories, she was an excellent story teller and I have enjoyed and learned much from reading her books.

What are you working on now?

We are working on the 4th in the Nurseketeers series: Mountains to Climb. Leslie in her senior year of college in the nursing program is the Student Nurses Association president, working two nights a week in the operating room, has a boyfriend that is getting tired of no time with her, and at the tip of this iceberg is her three Nurseketeers\’ roommates that are not happy with being volunteered for everything she dreams up for them on SNA event schedule.
